Hayden M. Bixby International Program Director
Hayden’s move from suburban California to Nairobi, Kenya in 1988 set in motion her relationship with the Eldon family and, eventually, with Creative Visions and Cura Orphanage.
In 2006, when the orphanage project was in its early stages, Hayden a launched and managed a sponsorship program to support the children who had only just arrived. Since then, her International Program Director role has significantly expanded, such that she travels several times a year to oversee projects on the ground and work with the local Cura Board and the children under our collective care.
When she is not in Kenya, she lives in the Seattle area and is a member of the English faculty at Edmonds Community College. She has served on both corporate and non-profit boards, and is currently among the management team for a family-owned company with real estate holdings in Washington and California. She earned her undergraduate degrees at Pitzer College and her MA at Western Washington University.
Hayden is a mother and step-mother of four, a partner and first mate to Greg Van Belle, and a Safari as a Way of Life true believer.
