Hayden M. Bixby International Program Director
Hayden’s move from suburban California to Nairobi, Kenya in 1988 set in motion her relationship with the Eldon
family and, eventually, with Creative Visions and Cura Orphanage. In 2006, when the orphanage project was in its
early stages, Hayden launched and managed a sponsorship program to support the children who had only just
arrived. Since then, her International Program Director role significantly expanded to include on-site work with the
Kenya-based leadership teams and the Cura “kids” who are now young adults, well on their way to self-sufficiency.
When she is not in Kenya, she lives in the Seattle area and is retired from the English faculty at Edmonds Community College. She has served on both corporate and non-profit boards and is currently among the management team for a family-owned company with real estate holdings in Washington and California. She earned her undergraduate degrees at Pitzer College and her MA at Western Washington University.
In 2022, Hayden married Greg, making Evan, Quinn, Emily and Taylor the siblings they already knew themselves to
be.
